Amazon Music Unlimited is free for 30 days for new subscribers, then $12.99/mo ($11.99 for Prime members). Here is what the trial includes, the audiobook catch and how to cancel.
Yes, Amazon Music Unlimited has a free trial. On October 27, 2026, Amazon's Amazon Music Unlimited page said "Free for 30 days" for new subscribers. After that it auto-renews at $12.99 a month, or $11.99 a month for Prime members, until you cancel.

How the free trial works
The sign-up page's fine print reads: "Auto-renews at $12.99/mo. after ($11.99/mo. for Prime members) until canceled. New subscribers only. Listen to one audiobook each month. Terms apply."
Amazon's Amazon Music Terms of Use describe trial plans the same way: "Some Trial Plans may, as communicated to you, automatically convert to a paid plan unless you cancel before the end of the Trial Plan." Amazon's About Amazon Music Unlimited page adds that "Eligible customers can start with a free trial" and that each account supports one active subscription at a time.
What you get during the trial
According to Amazon's help pages, Amazon Music Unlimited includes:
- 100 million songs in HD and millions in Ultra HD, ad-free and on demand.
- A growing catalog of Spatial Audio in Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio.
- Over 15 million podcast episodes and thousands of playlists and stations.
- Offline listening and unlimited skips.
- One audiobook per month for Individual Plan subscribers and Family Plan account holders. The page now says "Audible is now included."
Amazon offers Individual, Family, Single Device and Student plans. The Single Device Plan doesn't include HD, Ultra HD or Spatial Audio, and Amazon's plan comparison says audiobooks aren't available with the Student or Single Device plans.
Do you need it if you have Prime?
Prime members already get Amazon Music Prime at no extra cost. Amazon's comparison page says it includes 100 million songs ad-free, but in shuffle play. On-demand playback and offline listening work only for All-Access Playlists, and skip limits apply in most other cases.
Amazon Music Unlimited removes those limits: you can play any song on demand, download for offline listening and skip freely. Amazon Music Free, which needs no Prime membership, includes ads and mostly shuffle play.
The trial is a good way to see whether on-demand play is worth the $11.99 Prime rate to you.
How to cancel the Amazon Music Unlimited trial
If you signed up through Amazon, its cancellation help page lists these steps:
- Go to Your Amazon Music Settings.
- Go to the Amazon Music Unlimited section.
- Select the Cancel option in your Subscription Renewal details.
- Confirm the cancellation.
You can also say "Alexa, cancel my Amazon Music Unlimited subscription" on an Echo or other Alexa device, if you signed up through Amazon.
Amazon offers a pause option on some plans, but not on free trials. The help page says you can't pause "A free trial" or "A promotion," so canceling is the way to stop the first charge.
If you signed up through the Apple App Store, Google Play or a mobile service provider, Amazon says to contact them to cancel or request a refund, and their policies apply. Our guide on where to cancel a trial started through Apple walks through that.
What happens after you cancel
Amazon says you can keep using Amazon Music Unlimited until your plan ends. After that, songs and podcasts you added from Unlimited are grayed out in your library, and the playback option is removed. Individual Plan subscribers and Family Plan account holders also "lose access to their selected audiobook when their current billing cycle ends."
The Terms of Use say "If you cancel your subscription, you will not receive a refund of any fees already paid." Customers in the EU, UK or Brazil have a 14-day withdrawal right under the same terms.
Bottom line
Amazon Music Unlimited's 30-day trial is free for new subscribers, and Prime members pay $1 less a month afterward. Free trials can't be paused, so cancel from Your Amazon Music Settings before day 30 if you don't want to keep it. Comparing music services?
