InfantSEE, a public-health program of the American Optometric Association's foundation, provides a completely free comprehensive eye and vision assessment for babies between 6 and 12 months old — regardless of family income or insurance, and providers are prohibited from billing insurance for it. Participating optometrists check for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, eye-movement issues, and eye-health problems at the age when early detection matters most.
