Three Confirmed Corpus Christi Back-to-School Events
- *Operation Safe Return** is Corpus Christi's 15th annual back-to-school event, distributing 3,000 free backpacks through 145 vendors offering school physicals and immunizations, according to KIIITV.
- *Free Store Corpus Christi Back-to-School Bash** partners with Esperanza de Tejas and 30+ community organizations, providing free clothing, shoes, hygiene items, haircuts, immunizations, and community resources, according to KRISTV.
- *Happy Health Back-to-School Fair** by Driscoll Health Plan and LEAD First offers free school supplies, backpacks, health screenings, and sports physicals to Corpus Christi families, according to KRISTV.
What "No Purchase Necessary" Means Here
All three events explicitly exclude any purchase requirement or hidden fees. Families attend and receive items and services freely. The backpacks, clothing, supplies, health screenings, haircuts, and immunizations are given away with no transaction involved.
Some services—like health screenings and sports physicals—may require basic information or documentation (such as proof of age for immunizations), but these are identification needs, not purchases.
Event Locations and Times
Operation Safe Return is held Saturday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Hilliard Center, according to KIIITV. The Free Store and Happy Health events are scheduled by their sponsoring organizations; confirm times and locations directly with Esperanza de Tejas, Driscoll Health Plan, or LEAD First before attending.
Who Can Attend and What to Bring
These events serve Corpus Christi-area families preparing students for school. No age restrictions, income requirements, or pre-registration are mentioned in the announced details—attendance is open to all families in the region interested in free back-to-school support. If you plan to take advantage of health services like immunizations or sports physicals, bring proof of your child's age; otherwise, just bring your child.
Finding Current Event Information
Because sponsoring organizations manage specific dates independently, verify details before visiting. The TEXAS YES Project maintains an online calendar of free back-to-school events across Texas, including Corpus Christi options, which you can check for updates on all three events.
