Thanksgiving Grocery Apps: Which Ones Actually Save Money?

Store bundles cut checkout costs for 10, while cash-back timing and payout limits decide real Thanksgiving savings.
Walmart and ALDI store bundles save the most money at checkout for a group of 10. Cash-back offers can erase turkey and side costs, but the funds arrive later and need a minimum balance to withdraw. Cash back here means money returned after you buy and submit proof of purchase.
Store bundles lower the shelf price right away. Cash-back funds act more like delayed credit.

How low did store bundles go?
Walmart said its 2025 basket fed 10 for under $40, or under $4 per person, during Oct. 20 through Dec. 26, 2025, according to the Walmart announcement.
The basket had more than 20 national and private-brand items. It included Butterball turkey at $0.97 per pound. ALDI said its 2025 bundle also fed 10 for $40, sold Oct.
15 through Dec. 24, 2025, according to the ALDI announcement. It included a 14-pound turkey plus ingredients for nine sides.
No coupons, loyalty card, or minimum purchase were required.
What does cash back cover?
Ibotta said its seventh annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Us offers 100% cash back on any-brand turkey after completing a personalized turkey bonus, according to the Ibotta seasonal post. Shoppers add the offers first, then submit a receipt. A new 100%-back side offer arrives each Tuesday starting Nov.
3. That structure suits shoppers who already buy a whole turkey. The turkey bonus must be finished before the free-turkey credit applies.
Each side needs its own added offer and receipt.
When do you actually get the money?
Ibotta said qualifying Thanksgiving cash back posts within 24 hours, according to the Ibotta program page. Turkey reimbursement uses average MSRP, not the exact shelf price paid. Cash-out needs a $20 minimum balance.
That timing matters for tight budgets. The receipt may show one price while reimbursement follows the average. Small balances stay in the account until they reach $20.
How should you stack them?
Start with the lowest checkout bundle available to you. Use one store basket for turkey plus sides. Add cash-back offers only for items you already plan to buy.
Shoppers feeding 10 who want immediate savings gain more from the $40 bundles. Shoppers who can wait and meet bonus terms can offset turkey costs afterward.
