Thanksgiving Day Free Kids' Activities at Local Malls
Use the outdoor Oviedo Mall Kiddie Run on Thanksgiving morning, then book free Santa photos for another day.
The one verified free kids' activity at a mall on Thanksgiving Day itself is the outdoor 100-meter Kiddie Run at Oviedo Mall. Most indoor mall kids' programs are not available that day because enclosed malls are closed. The Kiddie Run starts and finishes at Oviedo Mall on Thursday, Nov.
26, 2026. Families can use that morning run, then plan free Santa visits and crafts at mall stores on other days.

What can kids do at the mall on Thanksgiving Day?
The Thanksgiving Day option is outdoors on mall grounds, not inside stores. According to TicketSignup, the Turkey Trot Oviedo is set for Nov. 26, 2026 at 1700 Oviedo Mall Boulevard – Food Court, and includes a Kiddie Run 100 meters Turkey Trot Oviedo race listing.
The event guide lists the 9 a.m. Kiddie Run in a range from a free kids run to $25-35 entries. That structure means families should check the organizer entry page for the child age range and any registration step before arriving.
Why are indoor mall activities limited that day?
Many enclosed malls close on Thanksgiving Day itself. Simon lists The Florida Mall as Closed on Nov. 26, 2026 The Florida Mall holiday hours.
That closure affects Santa lines, play areas, and indoor events. An outdoor start-finish area can still operate when interior doors stay closed.

How should families plan for no extra cost?
