Target Cartwheel-Style Deals on Christmas Decor: What to Know

Use Circle automatic deals, activate bonuses before checkout, and watch holiday expiration and price-match limits.
Target no longer offers Cartwheel for Christmas decor. Cartwheel-style savings now live inside Target Circle, which applies deals at checkout. Target Circle is the free membership that replaced Cartwheel.
Shoppers hunting lights, trees, and ornaments need to know how Circle applies deals, when activation is required, and what holiday limits affect decor.

Where did Cartwheel go?
Target Corporate says Cartwheel received a makeover and joined Circle just in time for the holidays, with Circle rolling out nationwide on Oct. 6, 2019, as described in the Target Circle nationwide announcement. The old Cartwheel app went away at that point.
That history matters for decor shoppers. Old Cartwheel screenshots, barcodes, or saved offers no longer work. Start from Circle instead.
How do Circle deals work on decor?
Target Corporate says Circle is free to join and Circle deals apply automatically at checkout, according to the 2024 Target Circle holiday guide. Shoppers do not clip a separate Cartwheel barcode. For Christmas items, that means an eligible wreath, garland, or light set discount shows during checkout when signed in.
Check the Circle Deals page before paying to confirm the decor item is included.
Do decor bonuses need activation?
Yes. Target Help says Circle Bonuses are personalized offers for extra savings and members must sign in and activate the bonus on the Circle Deals page or it will not apply, and notes bonuses expire at 11:59 p.m. Pacific on the stated date with item or use caps, no cash value, no use on prior purchases, and no combination with a competitor price match, as explained in the Target Help Circle Bonus terms.
A bonus differs from an automatic deal. Use this quick check before buying decor:
- Sign in to Circle and open the Circle Deals page.
- Activate any bonus tied to holiday, home, or decor spending.
- Note the expiration date, time zone cutoff, and use limit.
What holiday timing affects Christmas decor?
Early November through late December is a common window for decor price drops. Target Help says shoppers starting Nov. 1, 2026 can request a match to Target's own lower Target.com or local-store price through Dec.
24, 2026 with proof of purchase, for identical items excluding clearance, closeout, refurbished, and gift-card promotions, under the holiday price-match terms. Keep the receipt and compare the same item number. Buy with the expiration clock in mind.
A bonus that ends before a planned second trip will not help with matching garlands or extra lights.
