Sonic Rewards is the free loyalty program inside the Sonic App that earns points, bonuses, and personalized deals on every order. Free and reduced-price drinks come mainly through a welcome drink choice, points redemptions, and half-price drink options tied to Order Ahead and top-tier status. Inspire Brands launched the program nationwide on April 6, 2026.
It is built for guests who order and pay ahead, then pick up at the drive-in.

What free drinks can you get?
New members can choose a welcome reward of medium fries, tots, or a drink after joining. That choice can be redeemed toward free food or drinks in the app, according to Inspire Brands in the launch announcement. Members who add a birthday can also receive an annual birthday choice of a corn dog or a small shake.
That birthday reward is separate from points redemptions. Sonic's app page says Order Ahead customers get half-price drinks and slushes every time they order ahead. Covered drinks include soft drinks, iced teas, lemonades, Ocean Water, and fruit or candy slushes, as described on the Sonic app page.
How do points and status levels work?
Members earn 10 points per dollar on qualifying purchases. Points can then be used toward rewards, including food and drinks. Visits move members through three levels.
Members start at Member, reach Star after 10 calendar-year visits, and reach Legend after 30 visits. Legend members earn 12 points per dollar, according to Inspire Brands in the launch announcement. That structure favors regular visitors.
A household that stops weekly can reach Star in about three months and Legend later in the year.
How do you order in the app?
Download the free iPhone or Android app and create an account. Then select a participating drive-in before building an order. Check-in matters because it tells the kitchen when to start preparation.
Arriving without checking in can delay handoff.
- Choose food, drinks, and pickup time in the app.
- Pay ahead in the app or through the website.
- Park in a stall and check in on arrival.
- Wait for staff to prepare and deliver the order.
What limits should you check first?
Rewards and drink offers work only at participating drive-ins. They also apply only to qualifying app or website purchases. Legend status does not give every app user unlimited half-price drinks at any time.
Legend members may choose one of three VIP benefits on eligible visits, including half-price drinks and slushes. Third-party delivery, gift cards, taxes, fees, and discounts are generally excluded from earning. Check the reward screen before you pay so the correct offer applies.
