What Black Friday changes about phone shopping
WhistleOut finds November events bring the widest selection across iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel, not the lowest single-model price, in its phone-timing guide. That matters if you compare brands or storage sizes. Adobe forecast peak 2025 online electronics discounts at 28% off listed price, down from 30.1% in 2024.
Digital Commerce 360 reported the figures in its summary of the Adobe forecast. Samsung ran a Galaxy sale Nov. 21-Dec.
1, 2025 at up to 40% off selected mobile gear. The cuts covered phones, tablets, wearables and audio, including A-series phones, in its Black Friday announcement.
When does waiting save more?
Apple took a different path in 2025. Its Nov. 28-Dec.
1 U.S. shopping event paid $25-$250 gift cards for future Apple purchases, Plug reported, instead of cutting flagship iPhone prices. That pattern favors waiting for clearance on a prior generation.
WhistleOut lists September-October for older iPhones after the September launch. It lists February-March for older Galaxy S phones. Buy early if you need a current flagship gift or a full bundle.
Wait if you accept last year's chip and camera for less.
What limits carrier free-phone offers?
PhoneArena reported T-Mobile's 2025 offer included a free iPhone 17 Pro or Galaxy Z Flip 7 after eligible trade on an eligible plan. The same report noted discounted Galaxy Tab, Watch and Buds bundles. The limit is eligibility, not inventory.
