Portland diners can find 2026 restaurant freebies from Salt & Straw, Burgerville, Black Rock Coffee Bar, Starbucks, Panera, and Chili's. Most are birthday or signup rewards, not unconditional free meals. A restaurant freebie is a no-cost loyalty benefit earned after meeting the brand's rules.
Portland has no citywide registry, so this is a verified snapshot rather than a permanent or exhaustive list.
Portland shops with verified birthday treats
Salt & Straw offers members a free Double Scoop birthday reward at participating shops. Portland locations include Alberta, Division, and NW 23rd. According to the Salt & Straw Rewards FAQ, members must be U.S.
residents age 16 or older, enroll at least 30 days early, and make one prior purchase. The reward remains available for seven days after the member's birthday. It excludes shipping, licensed shops, and third-party delivery, and only one reward can be used per transaction.
Burgerville Rewards provides a free 12-ounce Everyday Shake. It loads two weeks before the member's birthday and remains valid for 30 days. Burgerville's location directory lists Portland restaurants on NE MLK, Hawthorne, and Glisan.
Free birthday drinks
Black Rock Rewards offers a free medium hot or iced drink when a member enters a birthday. The reward can be redeemed within 30 days. New members also receive a free medium drink after signup.
Starbucks Rewards members can choose one complimentary handcrafted beverage, qualifying food item, or ready-to-drink bottled beverage on their birthday at participating stores. The Starbucks Rewards Terms require members to join at least seven days early, enter their birthday, and complete one Star-earning purchase beforehand. Check the reward in the relevant app or account before ordering.
Participation rules mean an available reward does not necessarily apply at every storefront.
Bakery and dessert rewards
MyPanera provides one individual bakery treat or bagel as a birthday reward. It stays active for seven days after loading. The Panera reward excludes spreads, bulk items, breads, soufflés, catering, and third-party orders.
Choose an eligible individual item and redeem through an accepted ordering channel. My Chili's members receive a free birthday dessert that expires 10 days after issue. Chili's also has a free Chips & Salsa benefit, but that separate offer requires a $5 purchase.
Neither benefit represents an unconditional free walk-in meal.
The Red Robin birthday change
Red Robin's former Birthday Burger should not appear as a standard current freebie. Its Royalty program terms say the offer moved into "Surprise & Delight" effective June 1, 2026. Only previously eligible members with birthday months beginning by July 1, 2026, retained one final burger offer during 2026.
Other members should rely on rewards actually displayed in their accounts rather than older birthday lists.
How to avoid missing a reward
Birthday offers commonly depend on enrollment timing, a saved birth date, a prior purchase, or store participation. Before visiting: Salt & Straw has the longest stated advance-enrollment rule here at 30 days. Its reward lasts seven days, while the Burgerville and Black Rock birthday offers remain redeemable for 30 days.
