Who can use Supplies for Success?
Irving Schools Foundation runs Supplies for Success as an annual summer drive for Irving ISD children in need. Its 2025 sponsor letter set a goal of serving over 6,000 children. The August backpack distribution is invitation-only and targeted to low-income Irving ISD families.
The general public cannot walk in without qualification, according to the Irving Schools Foundation profile.
- Check Irving Schools Foundation summer announcements early for dates.
- Confirm whether your family needs an invitation or referral.
- Ask about arrival times, since supplies are limited.
Can teachers get supplies for students?
Yes. The Foundation's Community 2 Classroom Store at 1216 Luke St. lets Irving ISD teachers, counselors and staff shop at no cost.
Stock includes backpacks, uniforms, shoes and basic supplies for direct gifts to students. Families who missed a public event can contact a child's teacher or school counselor. School staff decide which students receive those store items.
How can you save on remaining items?
Texas held its statewide sales-tax holiday Aug. 7-9, 2026. Most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 per item were exempt from state and local sales tax, according to the Texas Comptroller reminder.
The $100 limit applies per item, not per cart. For next August, make a list of under-$100 needs, confirm eligibility on the Comptroller's list, and shop during the three-day window.
