Chase says Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers earn 5% cash back at grocery stores, excluding Walmart and Target, on up to $1,500 in combined Q4 purchases from Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2026, only after activation by Dec.
14, 2026, according to the Q4 categories announcement. Activation matters more than shopping date. Complete it before the turkey run.

Use a supermarket card for the full stock-up
American Express says Gold Card members earn 4X Membership Rewards points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $25,000 in purchases per calendar year, then 1X, as described on the Gold Card rewards page. The yearly structure suits one large Thanksgiving trip.
You do not need to activate a quarter. Track your yearly supermarket total before November. A full turkey, sides, and baking run still earns at the higher rate when you remain under the cap.
Add store loyalty Points on eligible items

Albertsons says its free for U loyalty program lets members earn Points on eligible purchases and redeem them for gas discounts, grocery rewards, plus a birthday treat and monthly free item. Check eligible-item tags before you shop. Buy the qualifying sizes and flavors.
Unlock holiday turkey and side rebates
Ibotta says its seventh annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Us requires completing a personalized Thanksgiving Turkey bonus in the app to unlock 100% cash back on an Any Brand turkey, plus a new 100% cash-back side offer each Tuesday from Nov. 3, according to the Thanksgiving 2026 announcement. Open the app early in November.
