How Birthday Clubs Work When Your Birthday Is in December

Sign up by early November, check your birthday details, and redeem early to use December birthday rewards in time.
Birthday clubs are free store loyalty or email clubs that issue one annual birthday reward. For a December birthday, you save your birth month and day in advance, then receive that reward during December under that program's timing rules. December leaves little room for delay.
Short redemption windows, supplies limits, and holiday travel or closures can block last-minute use. That makes early sign-up and early redemption the practical core of a December plan.

Why early November is the cutoff
Most clubs require the birth date on file before the birthday or birthday month. If you join in mid-December, many programs will skip the reward until next year. Starbucks sets a clear example.
Starbucks states in its Rewards terms that members must join at least 7 days before their birthday and make at least one Star-earning purchase before the birthday, as explained in Starbucks Rewards terms. A December birthday must therefore qualify by late November. Join target clubs by early November.
Confirm your birthday and email preferences before December 1. That leaves time to fix a typo, confirm enrollment, and meet any purchase rule.
What December members receive
The pattern is one reward per year, not one per visit or per coupon code. The form varies by retailer, from a food or drink reward to a small beauty gift. Ulta Beauty offers members with a birthday in their profile plus a valid email or mobile app one birthday gift per calendar year during their December birthday month, while supplies last, as described in Ulta Beauty Rewards terms.
Ulta Beauty also offers 2X points on qualifying in-store and online purchases during the birthday month. Limits sit beside the benefit. Starbucks allows redemption only at participating stores and excludes multi-serve items such as trays of pastries or coffee travelers.
A December reward is therefore a single-person benefit, not a party supply.
How long the rewards stay valid
Timing rules matter more in December because the calendar runs out. Some coupons last only through the birthday month. Others last a set number of days after issuance.
Bath and Body Works draws that contrast in its Help Center. Birthday Rewards are valid for 30 days from issuance, while regular rewards last 90 days, according to the rewards expiry help article. A late-December birthday reward can therefore carry into January.
Expired rewards are never replaced or reissued. Do not save a short-window December reward for a later trip unless you have checked the expiration date.
How to redeem before the holidays interfere
Redeem early in December when you can. A day-only window, a supplies limit, or a holiday closure can remove a last-minute option. Travel also separates many members from their usual store.
Use a short checklist during the first week of December: Members who travel should check participating locations near their trip before they leave. Bring the app, login, or barcode needed at the register.
- Open each club account and confirm the birthday month, day, and contact details.
- Check whether the reward needs activation, a coupon code, or an app scan.
- Note the end date, store limits, and any purchase rule.
- Plan redemption around travel days and holiday hours.
