Memphis has a short, partial list of 2026 holiday giveaways, but the verified programs are charitable distributions—not contests that choose "local winners." As of August 10, only Porter-Leath has posted firm December dates; other major programs have not published complete 2026 recipient details. Families should distinguish open assistance programs from donation drives that benefit people already enrolled. A scheduled toy collection does not necessarily mean the public can register to receive toys.
The confirmed 2026 Toy Truck schedule
The Porter-Leath 2026 Toy Truck schedule lists collections on December 3–5 at Poplar Plaza and December 11–12 at WMC-TV. Another collection is planned for December 18–19, with its location still to be announced. This 25th annual drive supports more than 5,000 preschoolers in Porter-Leath focus areas, from six weeks through age five.
It cannot fulfill outside toy requests, so it is not an open public giveaway or application route. Donors may bring new, unwrapped toys. Porter-Leath excludes used toys, toy weapons, Hot Wheels, playing cards, dice or play-money games, and stuffed animals.
Secret Santa will match the first $50,000 in cash donations.
Holiday drives announced with details pending
The Muse Foundation has placed a Memphis Christmas Toy Drive on its December 2026 calendar. It is seeking new toys for infants through age 17, but the date, time, location, recipient registration, and distribution rules remain unannounced. The foundation also lists a Thanksgiving food drive for November 2026.
Its 2026 events page requests shelf-stable food, but does not provide a recipient application or finalized event details.
Where families can check for toy assistance
Mid-South Toys for Tots has not posted a 2026 distribution schedule; its local page still displays 2025 information. The latest reported campaign distributed 97,958 toys to 38,282 children from newborn through age 12 across Shelby County and surrounding counties. Families can monitor the Toys for Tots request-a-toy portal for an available local request process.
The Salvation Army Memphis Angel Tree uses referrals and interviews to confirm need and reduce duplicate assistance. Enrolled families collect gifts during the seven days before Christmas Eve, but its local Angel Tree page does not yet list a 2026 application window. Catholic Charities of West Tennessee says Gifts for God's Children received more applications than it can serve.
It is not accepting additional applications, although registered children, families, and seniors may still receive donor support.
