Google Opinion Rewards Payment Sent but Not in PayPal: What to Check

Google Opinion Rewards shows "sent," but PayPal may not have accepted it—verify your email match and account status first.

A payment showing as "sent" in Google Opinion Rewards often means Google initiated the transfer, but PayPal hasn't accepted it yet—typically because your email addresses don't match or your PayPal account requires additional verification. The gap between "sent" and actual receipt is the source of most complaints, and the fix usually involves checking one of three things: email alignment, PayPal account status, or confirming you accepted the payment correctly.

Verify Your Email Addresses Match

The most common reason a payment doesn't appear in PayPal is a mismatch between the email you used to sign up for Opinion Rewards and the email linked to your PayPal account. When Opinion Rewards sends a payment to an email not yet connected to PayPal, you receive a separate PayPal email asking you to accept the transfer by linking that email to your account or creating a new one—this is not a spam email, and you have 30 days to act on it. To check: If your addresses match, Opinion Rewards automatically transfers payments to that email within 24 hours each time you earn $2.00.

  • Log into Opinion Rewards and verify which email is in your account settings
  • Log into PayPal and confirm your primary account email
  • If they don't match, add the Opinion Rewards email to PayPal or check your spam folder for PayPal's acceptance email

Check Your PayPal Account Verification Status

Even if your PayPal account looks active, it may block incoming transfers from third parties like Google Opinion Rewards. PayPal may reject Opinion Rewards payments if your account is restricted, your email is unverified, or your account requires additional verification. The solution is ensuring your account meets PayPal's requirements for receiving transfers.

Check that your PayPal account has: If you see a message about account limitations or restrictions in PayPal, resolve that first. Opinion Rewards can send the money, but PayPal controls whether it's accepted.

  • A verified email address
  • A linked bank account or credit card
  • Any identity verification PayPal requested completed

"Sent" in Opinion Rewards Doesn't Mean "Received" in PayPal

A payment showing as "sent" in Opinion Rewards doesn't mean PayPal has accepted it; PayPal may reject transfers due to account status, unresolved disputes, or other policy flags. Google did its part by initiating the transfer, but PayPal is the final decision-maker. This matters because you might see the money marked as "sent" in Opinion Rewards but receive no notification or deposit in PayPal.

The payment isn't lost—PayPal is either reviewing it or blocking it based on account status. You can confirm Google sent it by checking the redemption history in your Opinion Rewards settings, which shows exactly what Google initiated separate from what PayPal received.

Wait Seven Days, Then Contact Support

If seven days have passed since you earned the $2.00 and the money still hasn't appeared in PayPal, contact Opinion Rewards support through the app's feedback menu. Provide your Opinion Rewards email, the date you earned the money, your PayPal email, and a screenshot of the redemption history showing "sent." Google's support team can see what happened on their end and check PayPal's records to determine why the payment wasn't accepted. If PayPal rejected it and you've since fixed any account issues, support can resubmit the payment.

This is much faster than waiting longer and hoping it arrives.

The 30-Day Acceptance Window

If you used an email for Opinion Rewards that wasn't previously linked to PayPal, PayPal sends a one-time acceptance email. You typically have 30 days to link that email to an existing PayPal account or create a new one; after 30 days, the payment can't be recovered. Check your spam folder carefully—legitimate PayPal emails sometimes get filtered.

Once you've accepted the payment or verified your email addresses match, subsequent earnings should transfer without requiring additional steps.
