Download Shell Fuel Rewards, bp earnify, and Exxon Mobil Rewards+ before a road trip for discounts at those pumps. Add Pilot myRewards Plus, Love's Rewards, and Circle K Inner Circle for truck stops and convenience stores along the route. These apps tie discounts and points to your account.
You enter a phone number, scan the app, or pay in the app. Savings then apply at the pump or in the store.

What cuts the price per gallon?
According to Shell, new members get instant Gold Status through Shell Fuel Rewards details. Gold saves at least 5¢/gal and stacks with other rewards. Keeping Gold takes about six fills of 5 or more gallons per 3-month qualification period.
bp America says earnify gives members an automatic 5¢/gal discount at participating bp and Amoco locations, described in the bp earnify answers. Members also earn 1 point per dollar on fuel and 2 points per dollar in-store. ExxonMobil Fuels rewards pages say Rewards+ members earn 3¢/gal in points on regular, midgrade and diesel and 6¢/gal on premium.
They also earn 2 points per $1 in-store or on a car wash, with 100 points equaling $1 in savings.
Which apps fit highway and truck stops?
Pilot Company says its myRewards Plus app lets auto, RV and truck drivers start the pump, pay, and earn loyalty points automatically. It also stores fleet and payment cards and sends a digital receipt without missed swipes. Love's says its unified Love's Rewards program lets all drivers earn and redeem points on fuel, food and merchandise through the Love's App.
Love's describes the change in the Love's loyalty upgrade announcement. After earning 500 points, 100 points are worth $1.00.
What do store visits and points buy?
Circle K says in the Circle K Inner Circle details that Inner Circle is free for new members. New members get 25¢/gal off their first five fuel visits up to 35 gallons each. Banked Visits can then be redeemed for rewards up to $1/gal or meals.
Shoppers who buy snacks can use bp in-store points, ExxonMobil in-store points, and Love's points on food and merchandise. Circle K instead banks Visits for fuel or food rewards. Pick the store you will see most often.
What limits should you check before you go?
Limits change the math on a long trip. Check tank size, expiration dates, and excluded items before you count on savings. If your tank holds less than 20 gallons, plan one vehicle per purchase.
If you drive rarely, use points before year-end or six-month marks.
