Free Shipping Offers: How to Combine Them With Sweepstakes Entries

Use free sweepstakes entry methods first, then clear shipping thresholds only with planned purchases.
You can combine free shipping offers with sweepstakes entries by keeping the two actions separate. Use the sponsor's no-purchase entry method for your chance to win, and use a store's free-shipping threshold only for purchases you already planned. An alternate method of entry, often called an AMOE, is a free way to enter without buying.
A purchase will not improve your chances, so paying for shipping does not add odds.

Why buying does not raise your odds
Continental Tire the Americas states in its monthly sweepstakes rules that entry is free. No purchase, payment, proof of purchase, or entry fee is required. A purchase will not improve chances of winning.
That rule keeps shopping and entering separate. The same Continental sweepstakes has location and age limits. It covers legal U.S.
and D.C. residents 18 or older on the entry date, except 19 in Alabama and Nebraska and 21 in Mississippi. It is void where prohibited.
What does a free entry route look like?
The CGA Company describes in its monthly drawing rules three free entry routes for its monthly drawing. They include new newsletter signup, automatic entry for addresses still subscribed at month-end, and one email entry per period without subscribing. Each drawing covers one calendar month, and entries do not carry over.
No purchase or payment increases odds of winning. Use the route that fits your plans. If you do not want emails, choose the email entry that does not require subscribing.
How do free-shipping minimums work?
Target explains in its shipping help when shipping is free. Orders of $35 or more, Target Circle Card orders, and Target Circle 360 orders qualify. Otherwise shipping is $5.99.
Added charges may apply for Alaska, Hawaii, and protectorates. H Mart describes in its shipping costs help a $69 threshold for free standard shipping. The $69 figure uses merchandise subtotal after discounts and coupons.
Orders below that pay $9.99, orders must total at least $35 to ship, and Same-Day Delivery is excluded.
How can you combine both without overpaying?
Start with the free entry first. Find the alternate entry address in the rules and submit that entry alone. Then handle shopping only if you planned it.
Consolidate items so the post-discount subtotal clears free shipping, rather than paying a fee around an entry.
- Enter through the free method for your chance to win.
- Add planned items together to reach the threshold.
- Check the cart subtotal after coupons before you pay.
