Free Eggnog & Holiday Drink Samples at Grocery Stores
Track in-store tastings and digital freebies to sip eggnog and cocoa without paying full price.
Free eggnog and holiday drink samples at grocery stores are small walk-up tastes offered during set tasting hours and seasonal events. Last holiday season those tastes included eggnog ice cream in stores and poured eggnog at a Houston holiday pop-up. Free means a small sample or coupon with no purchase, not a full bottle.
Dates, stores, and supplies control who can take part.

What did Publix serve at its holiday tastings?
Publix corporate newsroom states its stores held a free Thanksgiving tasting on Nov. 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with department samples including Grocery's Limited Edition Eggnog Premium Ice Cream.
Shoppers walked department to department during those four hours. Supplies depended on each store. The same Publix festive tastings announcement lists a second free Holiday tasting on Dec.
6, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Samples included peppermint cocoa cheesecake, cranberry cinnamon goat cheese, peppermint ice cream, meatballs and candy-cane almonds.
Both events were one-day, in-store tastings.
Where was free poured eggnog offered?
Promised Land Dairy served free samples of Old-Fashioned Eggnog at Ice Village in Houston's Rice Village on Dec. 12-14, 2025. Bow-tie servers offered free-product coupons and a Naughty or Nice prize challenge.
The event was tied to a specific place and weekend. The district's Rice Village holiday pop-up listing describes the Ice Village setting for that sampling. Visitors could keep a free coupon or pass it on.
The pour was a taste, not a full carton to take home.
Can a grocery app coupon cover a holiday drink?
Kroger's Free Friday Download loads a free-item digital coupon to shoppers with a digital account on select Fridays. The offer requires download between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.
PT for later in-store redemption, according to the Kroger Free Friday Download terms. That format fits holiday drinks when a drink is the featured Friday item. Check the app on Friday morning before shopping:
- confirm a digital account is signed in
- download that Friday's item by 11:59 p.m. PT
- redeem in store before the coupon expires
How do you sample eggnog safely?
Choose pasteurized eggnog for store tastings and home use. The FDA holiday food safety guidance advises holiday cooks to use store-bought pasteurized eggnog or a cooked egg base and pasteurized eggs. Raw-egg eggnog can carry Salmonella.
Alcohol does not make raw-egg eggnog safe. Ask the demo worker whether the sample is pasteurized if the sign does not say.
