Free Christmas Stocking Stuffers: Sample Sources for Kids
Free magazines, books, pizza certificates and Santa photos that fit kids' stockings this Christmas.
Yes — several ongoing free kids' programs provide small items, certificates, and keepsakes that fit easily in a Christmas stocking. These sample sources are no-cost sponsor items and rewards, not full retail gifts. With Christmas weeks away, mail timing and sign-up limits matter most.
A parent or guardian usually must enroll, and local availability controls what is actually available.

Free print gifts that arrive by mail
LEGO mails children ages 5-9 a free print LEGO Magazine five times per year in the U.S., with the next issue dated November 2026. LEGO says sign-up needs only a free LEGO account and address from a parent or guardian, described in the LEGO Magazine FAQ. A November issue can go straight into a stocking or wrap as a separate gift.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails an enrolled child a free, age-appropriate book each month at home until age 5, at no cost to the family through local partners. The Doris Duke Foundation program page describes monthly delivery and local enrollment in the Imagination Library program details. Families already enrolled can set aside the November or December book for Christmas.
Pizza and birthday rewards that fit in an envelope
Pizza Hut BOOK IT! gives students who meet monthly reading goals a certificate for one free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. The Pizza Hut BOOK IT!
Program says the school program runs October through March, with homeschool families limited to five certificates per family per month, explained in the BOOK IT! program information. A printed certificate folds easily into a stocking.
Birthday programs can add another small stocking item for older children and teens. Ulta Beauty Rewards members with a birthday in their profile and marketing opt-in before the birthday month can receive one annual birthday gift while supplies last, plus 2X points on birthday-month purchases. Baskin-Robbins Birthday Club is free to join through the app or online account and provides birthday rewards without paid Rewards enrollment.
Free holiday photos and workshop take-homes
Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Santa's Wonderland offers families a free 4x6 studio-quality Santa photo plus kids' crafts and holiday giveaways daily November 8 through Christmas Eve, with Santa's arrival November 7. Bass Pro Shops Newsroom describes the dates, photo, crafts, and giveaways in the Santa's Wonderland announcement. The photo makes a flat, personal stocking filler.
Monthly building workshops offer another take-home option before Christmas. Lowe's Kids Club holds free monthly in-store DIY workshops with take-home builds and badges, but participation requires a free MyLowe's Rewards account and advance registration at participating stores. The Home Depot holds free Kids Workshops the first Saturday monthly from 9am to 12pm, where children keep the built project and receive an apron, pin, and certificate while supplies last.
How to plan around limits and dates
Mail and event programs have age, location, supply, and registration limits. Check whether your address qualifies, whether advance registration is required, and whether items are available while supplies last. Register for December workshops now because many stores fill early sign-up spots first.
