DPAC Broadway lottery and rush
Durham Performing Arts Center runs a DPAC Digital Lottery for Broadway performances in Durham. The program sells a limited number of discounted tickets for most Broadway shows, according to Durham Performing Arts Center's special-offers page. A lottery entry is a chance to buy, not free entry and not a set seat.
DPAC Student Rush usually offers $30 plus tax tickets for participating Broadway shows. Durham Performing Arts Center releases them the morning of each participating show for that day's performance, sold in person only, as listed on the student seats page. Check that day's listing, because the offer is show-specific.
Both options are limited in quantity and tied to specific performances. In-person purchase is often required, so confirm through the venue before paying a reseller. Treat any non-venue listing at a higher price as a separate resale choice.
Durham Bulls promotion nights
The Durham Bulls keep a Promotions calendar for theme nights, fireworks and giveaway nights. Single-game, group and 919 Club tickets are sold through milb.com/durham with Ticketmaster account management, according to Minor League Baseball's Durham Bulls promotions calendar. The calendar lists giveaway nights alongside theme nights and fireworks, so read each game listing for ticket terms.
A calendar mention is not the same as free admission. Ticket type and availability change by date. Pick the date first, then pick single-game, group or 919 Club.
Use the linked calendar to confirm the theme. Each listing applies to one game, so match the promotion to the date you can attend.
City free events and what free means
The City of Durham hosts free public events through Durham Parks and Recreation. One city notice lists an MLK event from 2-5 p.m. at W.D.
Hill Recreation Center, 1308 Fayetteville St., according to the City of Durham civic alert. Free means no ticket purchase for the listed program, not a prize drawing. Location and time still limit entry.
Use the time and address to plan, since free programs still have a set site and hours. Use city listings when you want a no-cost outing near Fayetteville Street. Use DPAC or Bulls listings when you want a specific show or game.
This split keeps free entry separate from discounted purchase chances.
How to keep a Durham deal legitimate
Lottery and rush seats are limited, show-specific and often need in-person purchase. Confirm availability through the venue before paying a reseller. A social-media price cannot create seats the box office does not have.
Start with the venue or city listing for tonight, then decide whether the discount or free program fits.
- Check the DPAC listing for the participating show and sale time.
- Buy rush only for that day's performance, in person.
- Compare the venue total with any resale total before you pay.
