Learn when Dunkin's 3× birthday points apply, which purchases qualify, and how those points can lead to a future reward.
Dunkin's birthday reward is bonus points, not an automatic free drink. Members receive 3× points on an eligible purchase during the birthday offer window. The promotion can help you earn a future food or drink reward, but you must make a qualifying purchase.
Dunkin's current Rewards page lists the birthday benefit and timing.

How the birthday reward works
Dunkin Rewards members normally earn 10 points per $1 on qualifying products. The birthday promotion triples that standard earning rate, according to the Dunkin Rewards Terms and Conditions. That means the offer accelerates your progress toward a reward.
It does not place a free birthday drink in your account automatically.
When can you use the offer?
Eligible members can use the 3×-points offer on one of three days: the day before their birthday, their birthday, or the day after. This short window provides some flexibility, but it does not last for the entire birthday month. Your Rewards account must include your birth month and day.
Members who do not provide that information will not receive birthday offers.
Which purchases qualify?
Points are available only on qualifying purchases at participating Dunkin locations when you use an eligible Rewards payment or identification method. Some Dunkin locations do not participate. Several transactions do not earn points under the program terms, including: Check that your location participates and use Dunkin's eligible Rewards process when ordering.
A purchase that normally earns no points will not become eligible simply because it is your birthday.
- Gift-card purchases or reloads
- Reward-coupon redemptions
- Merchandise
- Certain online purchases
- Baskin-Robbins products sold at combo locations
Can the points become a free drink?
Yes, but only through a later redemption. Members accumulate points and exchange them in the Dunkin app for select food or beverage rewards; the birthday offer does not directly provide a drink. Dunkin says rewards begin at 150 points on its Rewards page.
The number of points needed depends on the reward selected. Points expire 12 months after the final day of the month in which they were earned. After making an eligible birthday purchase, check the app to confirm the bonus points posted and use them before their expiration date.
