Daily Sweepstakes Entry Limits: Which Time Zone Controls the Reset?

See which time zone resets your daily sweepstakes entries and how to avoid wasting an entry.
The sponsor's stated time zone controls when a daily sweepstakes limit resets. Your phone or home time zone does not override that definition. A daily limit means one entry per sponsor-defined calendar day.
Because that definition changes by sponsor, you must check the rules before you plan repeat entries.

What does an ET day mean for entries?
The Coca-Cola Company defines a sweepstakes day as 12:00 am ET to 11:59 pm ET for its 2026 Match Ball sweepstakes Coca-Cola 2026 Match Ball rules. That window sets both the entry count and the reset moment. If you enter at 10 pm Pacific, the sponsor counts it as 1 am Eastern the next day.
That late-night entry can use up the next ET day before your local date changes.
Why does the reset zone change by sponsor?
KIIS-FM set its Universal Studios Hollywood sweepstakes to Pacific Time and named the sponsor's computer as the timekeeping device KIIS-FM 2024 sweepstakes rules. Server time therefore decides whether an entry falls inside the daily window. That is why there is no single national reset time.
One sponsor can reset on Eastern Time while another resets on Pacific Time.
Can a daily period start somewhere other than midnight?
Yes. Paramount used a 7:00:00 AM PT to 6:59:59 AM PT window for its Let's Make A Deal Daily Burn sweepstakes Paramount Daily Burn sweepstakes rules. The entry day ran morning to morning, not midnight to midnight.
A morning reset rewards careful timing. An entry at 6:30 am Pacific belongs to the prior day, while one at 7:10 am starts the new day.
Does daylight saving change the exact reset?
Yes, wording matters. The National Institute of Standards and Technology states 2026 daylight saving runs March 8 at 2 am to Nov. 1 at 2 am local time NIST daylight saving time rules.
So ET, EST/EDT, and prevailing time can point to a different exact instant. Convert the listed reset to your local clock before you enter. Extra or mass entries can risk disqualification, so keep one clean entry per sponsor day.
- Check the rules for the named zone and start-end times
- Convert the reset to your local time before entering
- Wait until after the converted reset for the next entry
