Cyber Monday Cashback Portals: How to Stack an Extra Discount

Start at the portal, finish in one session, and turn a Cyber Monday sale price into extra cash back.

You can add portal cash back on top of a Cyber Monday price by starting at the portal and checking out in one session. A cashback portal is a free site that sends you to a store and shares part of its store commission with you. Plan the order before you click, because tabs, codes, and returns can change whether the sale stays linked.

The steps below keep the purchase connected from click to payout.

How does the extra amount add up?

Rakuten Smart Shopper blog says Cash Back can run on top of a merchant discount rather than instead of it. Cash Back is earned on the discounted total, which lets a Cyber Monday markdown and portal payment combine, explained in Rakuten Smart Shopper explanation. Rakuten Help says its free portal covers 3,500+ stores and pays a percentage of the order total from store commissions.

At 5% back, a $100 purchase earns $5, as described in how Rakuten works.

How do you keep the purchase linked and get paid?

Sign in, click through the portal to the retailer, and finish checkout in the same tab and session. Avoid visiting other sites first because another session can reassign the sale. Balances of $5 or more pay out quarterly on February 15, May 15, August 15 and November 15.

Rakuten Help lists PayPal, check, Samsung Cash, Bilt Points, or Amex Membership Rewards points for eligible cardmembers in how Rakuten works. On Cyber Monday this means opening one path and staying in it until payment submits. If you compare prices mid-way, return through the portal before you pay.

Which codes and charges change the total?

Stick to portal-listed coupon codes because an outside code can override tracking and void Cash Back. Cash Back excludes taxes and shipping fees from the calculation. Most gift-card purchases and some gift-card payments are also excluded.

Rakuten Help says canceled or returned orders lead to adjusted or voided Cash Back, explained in why Cash Back may not track. For stacking, apply the listed sale and listed code together at the merchant checkout. Keep gift-card buys on a separate order when you want Cash Back on other items.

What is a simple Cyber Monday flow?

Use one clean run for each retailer. Decide the items first, then open the portal path once. Check that the total reflects the sale discount before you submit.

If the order changes, expect the Cash Back to change with it.

  • sign in to the portal
  • click through to the retailer and stay in the same tab
  • shop the sale and apply only a portal-listed code
  • pay the cash-back items without gift cards
  • keep the order unless a return is worth losing the extra amount
