Church's Chicken Rewards: What's Free in the App
Score free chicken with a qualifying app purchase, then turn points and yearly treats into free sides and drinks.
Church's Real Rewards offers free fried chicken in the app for new members, plus points toward free menu items and yearly birthday treats. Real Rewards is the loyalty program inside the Church's Texas Chicken app. New members choose a 2-piece leg and thigh or 3-piece tenders with a qualifying purchase.
Points and birthday rewards also require a qualifying purchase and only certain orders count.

What new members get
New members get one free chicken choice in the app. The choice is a 2-piece leg and thigh or 3-piece tenders. It comes with a first or other qualifying purchase, according to the App Store listing by Cajun Operating Company current App Store description.
That purchase rule matters for planning. You do not get the chicken with no purchase. Join before you order so the offer can attach to a qualifying checkout.
How points turn into free food
Members earn 10 points for every $1 spent on qualifying orders. That includes online, in-app, and in-store orders, according to the App Store listing by Cajun Operating Company. Points can cover almost anything on the menu up to family meals.
Redemptions start at 250 points for a regular classic side, dessert, or 22-ounce drink. They rise to 2,500 points for 16-piece legs and thighs, as reported by QSR Web in August 2024. A small order earns slowly, while larger or repeat orders build toward bigger meals.
What birthday and anniversary rewards include
Members also receive a birthday reward and a sign-up-anniversary reward. Each is good for a free dessert, regular classic side, or regular drink with any purchase. Those details come from the company announcement shared by Franchising.com in October 2025 Franchising announcement.
Both treats still require a purchase at redemption. Plan a store, website, or app purchase to use each treat. Check the app around each date so you use the correct order type.
How to earn without missing points
In-store members must scan their Rewards QR code in the app to earn. Points land within 24 to 48 hours after the transaction, according to Church's location pages Houston location page. Only certain orders earn: Those exclusions are listed on Church's location pages Indianapolis location page.
If you order delivery through another app, place a separate qualifying order to earn.
- App, website, or in-store purchase earns points.
- Third-party delivery app orders do not earn points.
- Catering orders do not earn points.
What about free chicken for a year?
The free-chicken-for-a-year offer was a launch sweepstakes, not an ongoing freebie. It required Real Rewards signup by Sept. 4, 2024.
Winners received a weekly 2-piece leg-and-thigh credit valid for one week, as reported by QSR Web in August 2024. Do not expect that prize in the app now. Use the current signup chicken, points, and birthday rewards instead.
