Christmas Food Bank Hours: How to Check Before the Holiday

Check your local pantry site and phone listing before Christmas week to avoid a wasted trip.
To check Christmas food bank hours, go to your local food bank's website or call it and confirm the exact pantry, day and time. A food bank is the regional hub that supplies neighborhood pantries and meal sites, and each site keeps its own holiday schedule. Do not assume normal weekday hours still apply during Christmas week.
A two-minute check of the site listing and phone message can save a wasted trip.

Find your local food bank first
Feeding America operates a ZIP-code and state locator that directs users to the nearest member food bank for pantry addresses and services find your local food bank. Start there to identify which food bank covers your address. Feeding America advises users to visit their local food bank's website or call it to learn when and where food distributions happen how food distributions are listed.
Use that local page or phone line as your check. A general holiday-hours post will not replace it.
Why Christmas week needs a second check
Warehouse and pantry schedules can stop for several days around Christmas. Anne Arundel County Food Bank publishes a 2026 Holiday Break from Dec. 24 to Jan.
4 its 2026 closure schedule. That kind of break removes Christmas-week access completely. Headquarters hours also differ from pantry hours.
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina lists Raleigh headquarters hours as Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM its Raleigh location hours. An evening, weekend or holiday visit therefore requires checking another distribution site.
What should you confirm before leaving?
Confirm the specific building, not only the food bank name. Many food banks work through churches, schools and mobile sites, and each one can set different Christmas hours. Check these four points together: If any point is missing, call before you travel.
Bring the address you confirmed so staff can redirect you if that room or lot is closed.
- pantry or distribution name and street address
- exact date it will be open
- start and end time for that date
- phone number or web page for last-minute changes
What if your usual site is closed?
Ask the same local food bank where else food is distributed that week. One closed pantry does not mean the whole network is closed. Repeat the website-or-call check for the new site, date and time.
Do that check as close to your trip as you can during the holiday week.
