Chesapeake, VA Cash Prize Sweepstakes Near Me: Where to Find Legit Deals
Chesapeake readers can use Lottery Rewards entries and Rush Rewards casino drawings while refusing any prize that demands a fee.
Chesapeake residents looking for legit cash-prize sweepstakes have two verified nearby paths: Virginia Lottery Rewards drawings and Rivers Casino Portsmouth gaming-floor promotions. Both are chance-based drawings tied to accounts or memberships, not assured payouts. A sweepstakes here means entry for a chance to win cash or other prizes.
Free play, dining, or travel credit is not the same as cash, and each program sets its own access rules.

What counts as a legit local chance?
A legit chance names a sponsor, explains entry, and lists prize types and limits before you act. It does not ask for payment to release winnings. That distinction matters around Chesapeake because lottery and casino options sit side by side.
One can be used from an account at home, while the other requires an in-person casino visit.
Can Virginia Lottery Rewards lead to cash drawings?
Virginia Lottery Rewards members earn points by playing games and scanning winning or nonwinning tickets, then redeem points for free play or entries into regular prize drawings, according to Virginia Lottery's Rewards FAQ. An entry is a chance to win, not cash itself. Participation is account-based, and points work only inside the Rewards program.
Keep expectations narrow: redeem for the drawing entry or free play offered, then wait for the drawing result.
What does Rivers Casino Portsmouth offer nearby?
Rivers Casino Portsmouth, about 10 miles from Chesapeake at 3630 Victory Blvd, runs monthly gaming-floor promotions with drawings for cash, Free Slot Play, dining, travel and other prizes for Rush Rewards members, according to Rivers Casino Portsmouth's fall promotions announcement. You must visit and join Rush Rewards to take part. Its $200,000 Ride to Riches giveaway was advertised as requiring Rush Rewards membership and age 21 or older, according to Rivers Casino Portsmouth's Ride to Riches page.
That age and membership screen means Chesapeake adults under 21 cannot legally use the casino cash drawings.
How do you skip fake prize pitches?
Treat an unexpected "you won" call, text, or message as a red flag. Pause, do not share bank details, and check the sponsor's program page directly. The Federal Trade Commission states that anyone who tells you to pay taxes, shipping, handling or processing fees to collect a prize is a scammer, according to the FTC's March 2026 alert.
Real sweepstakes do not demand money for a prize.
