Can You Get Baby Registry Freebies for a Second Baby?

Compare repeat limits and spending requirements before trying to unlock a Target, Walmart, Babylist, or Amazon second-baby box.

Yes, you may get baby registry freebies for a second baby, but eligibility depends on each sponsor's repeat-claim rules. Walmart may allow another box after 365 days, while Babylist limits boxes by household and Target does not confirm repeat eligibility. A registry freebie is usually a welcome kit containing samples, coupons, or account bonuses.

Some programs also require purchases, shipping fees, or other qualifying steps, so "free" does not always mean no out-of-pocket cost.

Can you get another Target welcome kit?

Target offers a welcome kit valued at $100 in samples and Target Circle bonuses. Members must create a registry, add 10 unique items, and have more than $10 purchased from it, according to Target's welcome-kit requirements. Target also says a registry is ineligible if it has already claimed a welcome kit.

That wording does not clearly establish whether someone who received a kit for an earlier baby may claim another through a new registry. If you previously received Target's kit, do not make a qualifying purchase solely because you expect a second one. Confirm the eligibility shown for your new registry before spending money.

Walmart allows another box after a waiting period

Walmart has the clearest route to a repeat benefit. Its terms permit one welcome box per person or address during each 365-day period, so a second-baby registry may qualify after that interval. The registry must remain open for seven days, contain 20 items, and receive at least $25 in qualifying purchases, excluding tax and delivery.

Boxes remain available only while supplies last and are not assured after completing the requirements, as explained in Walmart's welcome-box terms. Check both the claimant and delivery address against the 365-day limit. Using a different registry does not remove those restrictions.

Babylist applies a household limit

Babylist permits only one Hello Baby Box per household and one per registry. Under Babylist's current box policy, another baby in the same household does not provide documented eligibility for another box. A qualifying registrant needs a valid U.S.

address and a baby due within nine months or born within the previous four weeks. The requirements also include three items from outside Babylist, 40% checklist completion, a $30 Babylist Shop purchase, and $8.95 plus tax for shipping. Because the offer requires a purchase and shipping payment, consider the total cost rather than evaluating the box as a completely cost-free sample.

Amazon's repeat policy remains unclear

Amazon's published explainer says Prime members who create a baby registry receive a free welcome box valued at $35. However, Amazon's registry explainer does not state whether someone may receive another box for a second baby. Do not assume that creating another Amazon registry establishes repeat eligibility.

Check the terms attached to the current offer in your account before completing any requirements. For the clearest decision, compare four points before pursuing any second-baby box:

  • Whether the limit applies per registry, person, address, or household
  • When you last claimed a box
  • How much must be purchased
  • Whether shipping charges or limited supplies affect the value
