Black Friday Restaurant Freebies: What Chains Usually Offer

Learn how 2025 chain deals worked, from bonus cards to app codes, and what limits to check before you pay.

Black Friday restaurant freebies are usually price breaks tied to a purchase, not free food with no conditions. Sit-down chains often add bonus credit to holiday gift-card buys for use in January and February. Fast-food and fast-casual chains often cut prices on one item or waive a fee for app orders over a minimum.

These patterns come from the 2025 holiday period, so treat them as examples for 2026 shopping. A bonus card means store credit for a later visit, not cash back. Check the chain's own page for current dates and limits before you buy.

What does free mean on Black Friday?

Most restaurant offers called freebies still need a purchase, membership, or later visit. A free pizza with a $20 order, a low-price Frosty, or waived delivery still starts with spending. A bonus card with a gift-card buy is credit for January or February, not savings at checkout.

That is different from no purchase necessary, which means entry or access without buying. These restaurant examples were purchase-based benefits, not a chance to win. If you do not buy the qualifying item or redeem in the stated window, you do not get the value.

How do sit-down chains structure bonus cards?

Chili's lists a $10 Bonus Card with each $50 gift-card purchase through December 31, for in-restaurant use January 1 to February 13, excluding Hawaii. Chili's states the dates and Hawaii exclusion on Chili's gift-card page. The pattern matters for planners: buy in December, use the extra credit after the holidays.

Red Lobster used the same split-season model in 2025. It gave a $5 bonus coupon for each $25 gift-card purchase November 24 to December 31, 2025, redeemable January 1 to February 28, 2026 on $40 or more dine-in or To Go orders. Red Lobster describes the minimum, channels, and dates in Red Lobster holiday terms.

That minimum matters because a $25 gift card alone would not unlock the coupon at redemption.

What do fast food and fast casual spots discount?

Blaze Pizza gave a large cheese or one-topping pizza with any $20 or more digital order with code LARGE from November 26 to December 1, 2025, at participating locations through app or website. Blaze Pizza announced the code, minimum, channels, and dates in Blaze Pizza announcement. This is the closest 2025 example to a true free item, but it still needed a $20 digital order and a participating store.

Other 2025 deals lowered the price of one visit. Wendy's priced small Classic Frostys at $0.67 on November 28, 2025 in-store and online, then kept that price for app or online Rewards orders once daily through December 7. Chipotle waived delivery fees on app and website orders of at least $10 from November 28 to December 1, 2025 with code CYBER25.

Drink and convenience offers also needed membership and a purchase. Baskin-Robbins gave Rewards members buy-one-get-one 50% off frozen beverages on November 28, 2025, with different daily deals through Cyber Monday. Sheetz gave My Sheetz Rewardz members one free self-serve coffee with purchase from November 24 to 30, 2025, claimed under the Offerz tab in the app.

What should you check before you order?

Limits decide whether the deal fits you. Many offers need rewards membership, a minimum spend, a code, a participating location, or redemption in January and February. Holiday, alcohol, delivery, and dine-in exclusions can also remove the benefit.

Use this quick check on the chain's own page before you pay: Save the terms screenshot with dates and code until the credit posts.

  • Who can redeem: member, app user, or any guest
  • What triggers it: minimum spend, code, purchase with item, or gift-card amount
  • Where and when: participating locations, app or in-store only, and redemption window
  • What is excluded: holidays, alcohol, delivery, or combined offers
