Black Friday Christmas Decor Deals: What Usually Drops

Track Black Friday cuts on pre-lit trees, lights and garlands, plus when waiting until January saves more.
Pre-lit artificial trees usually see the steepest Black Friday decor cuts, at 30% to 50% off select lines, according to the Alibaba Party guide to tree sale timing. Pre-lit means the lights are wired into the branches, and flocked, slim and space-saving models are often included. Lowe's described four weeks of Black Friday savings starting Oct.
29, with cuts on select pre-lit trees plus lights, garlands and outdoor decor, in its Lowe's holiday announcement. Wayfair's event advertises up to 70% off, with holiday decor from about $17, on its Wayfair sale page.

Trees With the Largest Cuts
Pre-lit spruce, flocked and slim trees lead the markdowns. Shoppers see both full-size living-room trees and small apartment models reduced. Bob Vila reported one early event cut trees and decor up to 40%, including a 7.5-foot pre-lit spruce for $199.99.
The same report listed a 4.5-foot pink flocked tree for $44.99. Wayfair listed a 6-foot lighted tree for about $61 against a $372 list price. That type of gap is common for one featured tree shape, not every size.
Lights, Garlands and Outdoor Pieces
String lights, garlands, wreaths and outdoor decor drop alongside trees. These cuts are broad but often shallower than tree discounts. Lowe's grouped Holiday Living lights, garlands and outdoor decor with its tree savings.
That pattern lets shoppers match a tree with cords, timers and porch pieces. Wayfair placed entry holiday decor near $17 during its sale event. Low entry prices help replace worn strands, picks and small accents.
Why Black Friday Is Rarely the Lowest Price
The deepest tree discounts, about 50% to 70%, usually arrive in post-Christmas clearance from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2.
The Alibaba Party guide places that clearance below normal Black Friday pricing. Black Friday still matters for choice. Popular heights, slim profiles and warm-white pre-lit styles can sell out before December.
Shoppers chasing a certain look for this season face a trade. They pay more than clearance but keep more sizes and colors in stock.
Buy Now or Wait?
Buy on Black Friday when a tree must fit a set corner, ceiling height or lighting need. Waiting risks missing that exact slim, flocked or pre-lit version. Wait until after Christmas for the lowest price on next year's tree.
Clearance can also bundle stands and storage bags with the tree. Shoppers who need decor up now gain more from November availability than from a later markdown.
- Measure height, width and door clearance before you shop
- Pick pre-lit or unlit based on how you replace burned bulbs
- Check light color, branch count and storage size for small rooms
- Compare the sale price with January clearance if timing is flexible
