Birthday Freebies Without Signing Up: What You Can Claim the Same Day

Compare birthday reward deadlines, account rules, purchase conditions, and the one documented same-day alternative.
None of the current programs reviewed offers a verified birthday freebie that you can claim the same day without signing up. The documented offers require an existing rewards account, advance enrollment, or both. The closest same-day option is unrelated to your birthday: Krispy Kreme offers new Rewards members a free doughnut with their next purchase after joining.
It still requires enrollment and a purchase, so it does not match the title's no-sign-up premise.

Why showing proof of your birthday is not enough
These birthday offers operate through loyalty programs. The account records your birth date, determines eligibility, and delivers a reward or redemption code. That means a driver's license or other birthday proof does not replace membership under the documented terms.
Walking into a participating business on your birthday without an eligible account is unlikely to unlock these offers. "No purchase required" also differs from "no sign-up required." A store may let members redeem a gift without buying anything while still requiring enrollment and an account-based coupon.
Which programs require advance action?
Starbucks has the clearest advance requirements. You must join Rewards at least seven days before your birthday, add your birthday, and complete a Star-earning transaction beforehand. A person enrolling on their birthday cannot qualify that day under the Starbucks Rewards terms.
Eligible Green members can receive one handcrafted drink, food item, or ready-to-drink bottled beverage on the birthday at participating stores. Alcohol, packaged coffee, merchandise, and multi-serve items are excluded. Ulta also requires preparation.
Members must place their birth date in their profile and opt into marketing communications before the birthday month. In-store redemption requires a coupon code, though no purchase is required and availability depends on supply, according to Ulta's Birthday Rewards page.
Which gifts allow in-store redemption without a purchase?
Sephora's birthday gift requires Beauty Insider membership, but members can redeem it in a Sephora or Sephora at Kohl's store without making a purchase. The gift is available during the member's birthday month rather than only on the birthday. Online redemption has a different condition: it requires a $25 merchandise purchase.
Those limits appear in the Sephora Beauty Insider terms. Ulta's in-store gift likewise does not require a purchase, but it requires an eligible Rewards account and coupon code. In both cases, "free in store" does not mean that nonmembers can claim the gift.
What can a new member get immediately?
Krispy Kreme is the closest documented fallback for someone starting on their birthday. After joining Rewards, a new member can receive a free doughnut with the next purchase. Its separate birthday gift is also restricted to Rewards members, as shown on the Krispy Kreme Rewards page.
Chick-fil-A does not provide a comparable walk-in birthday offer. Its birthday benefit appears in the app's Rewards tab for Chick-fil-A One members, with the base membership reward beginning at a cookie or brownie. Before visiting, check whether you already have an account and whether it contains your birthday.
Then look for the reward or coupon in the program:
- Starbucks: enrollment and a qualifying transaction must occur before the birthday.
- Sephora: membership is required; in-store redemption needs no purchase.
- Ulta: advance marketing consent and an in-store coupon code are required.
- Chick-fil-A: the reward is tied to membership and the app.
- Krispy Kreme: joining may produce a same-day purchase-linked reward, but not a no-sign-up birthday freebie.
