Compare non-food birthday rewards, including beauty gifts, points, enrollment deadlines, purchase rules, and store limits.

Birthday freebies that aren't food include beauty samples, loyalty points, a discounted stuffed animal, and an emailed retail offer. The clearest no-purchase options are redeemed in person, while online beauty gifts may require merchandise in the order. A "birthday reward" is not always completely free.

Check whether it requires membership, advance enrollment, a purchase, shipping fees, or a specific redemption location.

Sephora's birthday beauty choices

Free Beauty Insider members in the United States and Canada can choose one 2026 birthday gift during their birthday month. Core options come from Tower 28, Dr. Dennis Gross, Dae, and Glossier; supplies may run out.

Members can redeem in stores without a purchase. Online redemption through Sephora.com or Sephora.ca requires at least $25 in qualifying merchandise. In stores, members may select 250 points instead of a physical gift, while VIB and Rouge members receive rotating online-exclusive choices.

These details appear in Sephora's 2026 birthday-gift announcement and current Beauty Insider terms. For the lowest out-of-pocket cost, redeem in a store and ask what remains available before choosing between merchandise and points.

Ulta's gift and double-points benefit

Ulta Beauty Rewards currently offers eligible members three birthday beauty choices: an OLE HENRIKSEN lip treatment, Rare Beauty liquid-blush sample, or Isima hair-mask sample. The account must contain the member's birthday, and marketing communications must be enabled before the birthday month. Eligible members also receive double points during that month.

Store gift redemption requires no purchase. Online redemption requires a non-marketplace item subtotal above $0, and shipping charges may apply. See Ulta's current birthday-gift page and Ulta Beauty Rewards terms for the documented choices and conditions.

Build-A-Bear is a discount, not a free bear

Build-A-Bear Bonus Club members can use the "Pay Your Age" birthday reward for a child during the child's birthday month. The child may buy one Birthday Treat Bear for the age they are turning, subject to a $1 minimum. This is an in-store discount at participating Workshops, not a free stuffed animal.

The child must be present, and the reward applies only to the designated Birthday Treat Bearβ€”not outfits or accessories. Build-A-Bear's birthday offer terms explain these limits. Families should compare the birthday price with their planned spending on clothing or accessories, since those additions remain outside the reward.

What Anthropologie's birthday offer promises

AnthroPerks is a free program that sends a birthday offer by email. To qualify, a valid birthday must be saved to the account at least 16 days before the birthday. The email should arrive about two weeks before the birthday, and the offer remains valid for 45 days after issuance.

Anthropologie's terms document the timing but do not establish this reward as a no-purchase physical gift. Because delivery depends on email, members should verify their saved birthday and email address well before the 16-day cutoff.

How to choose the lowest-cost reward

Start by separating no-purchase store redemptions from rewards that create extra costs. Sephora and Ulta permit eligible in-store gift redemption without a purchase, while their online conditions can add merchandise or shipping costs. Next, consider whether the benefit matches what you want.

Sephora offers beauty products or in-store points, Ulta offers beauty samples, Build-A-Bear provides a narrowly defined discount, and Anthropologie sends an offer whose value is not specified here. Finally, update birthday and communication settings before the birthday month, save reward emails, and check participating locations or available inventory before traveling.
