Birthday Freebies in Durham, NC: Updated 2026 List for Local Winners
Durham birthday picks include coffee, donuts and beauty gifts that need early sign-up and local redemption.
Durham residents can claim five birthday rewards from chains with Durham-area participating stores in 2026. The list covers a free drink or food item, donut reward, points bonuses, and beauty gifts tied to loyalty accounts. A birthday freebie here means a reward added to your loyalty account around your birthday.
You join ahead of time, save your birthdate, then redeem in store or online within the stated window. These are account rewards for members, not prize drawings.

What drink and bakery rewards are included?
Starbucks gives Rewards members one birthday reward for a free handcrafted beverage or food item. Green members redeem birthday-only. Gold members have 7 days from birthday and Reserve members have 30 days, according to Starbucks in Starbucks Rewards details.
Dunkin' gives Rewards members with month and day on file a 3X points bonus on purchases. You activate it for one day you choose: the day before, birthday, or day after, according to Dunkin' in Dunkin' Rewards terms. Krispy Kreme says it sends a birthday reward on the birthdate in your account, valid for 30 days from receipt.
It requires birthdate in the profile.
What beauty gifts are included?
Sephora gives Beauty Insider members one free birthday gift set during birthday month. You can redeem it free in Sephora and Kohl's stores or online with a $25 minimum purchase, according to Sephora in Sephora 2026 birthday announcement. Ulta Beauty gives Rewards members with email or app contact and birthday on file one free birthday gift per calendar year during birthday month.
Members also earn 2X points on qualifying birthday-month purchases, according to Ulta Beauty in Ulta Beauty Rewards terms.
What must you do before your birthday?
Starbucks says members must join at least 7 days before birthday, register birthdate, and make one Star-earning transaction first. Missing a step can keep that year's birthday reward from issuing. Check these items one to two weeks early.
Early updates leave time for accounts to show the birthdate. These steps separate a free birthday reward from a purchase. Dunkin' points need purchases, and Sephora online redemption needs a $25 minimum.
- Starbucks: birthdate saved, 7-day membership met, one Star-earning purchase done
- Dunkin': month and day saved, then pick day before, birthday, or day after
- Krispy Kreme, Sephora and Ulta Beauty: birthdate saved with email or app contact
How do you redeem around Durham?
Birthday offers work only at participating cafes and stores. Ulta notes on its birthday page that its gift excludes Target and DoorDash locations, and Sephora gifts are while supplies last. Members enroll early and redeem locally within each stated window.
Bring the loyalty app or account email for scanning at pickup. If a Durham counter is out of stock or does not participate, ask staff about another nearby participating store.
