Best Back-To-School Giveaways in Baton Rouge, LA: 2026 Local Guide

See what 2026 Baton Rouge supply giveaways offered and how to track 2027 dates early.

The 2026 Baton Rouge back-to-school giveaways were single-day, in-person distributions of filled backpacks, supplies, shoes, haircuts, health screenings and gift cards. By October 29, all of the listed 2026 pickup dates have passed, so families should use sponsor pages to watch for 2027 dates. A back-to-school giveaway here means a local distribution or drawing that helps families cover supply costs.

Some offered supplies to attendees on site, while one offered a chance to win a gift card.

What did families receive?

Dudley DeBosier offered ten Louisiana winners a $200 gift card each for backpacks, notebooks, calculators and other essentials, according to Dudley DeBosier back-to-school gift card announcement. That was a chance to win, not a supply handed to every applicant. The $2,000 total was aimed at easing supply costs.

East Baton Rouge Parish Schools gave K-12 students a free backpack filled with supplies while supplies lasted, according to EBR Schools 2026 School Supply Giveaway listing. Unstuck Ministries provided single moms with a filled backpack, books, a reading booklet and a 1-year Single Mom University membership, according to Unstuck Ministries Greater Baton Rouge giveaway listing. Those were direct distributions at the event site.

Other sites added services alongside supplies. World Shakers combined free health screenings with free school supplies plus games and snacks. District 7 Pack the Sack, I Need Thee Church and Constable Terrica Williams distributions included items such as filled backpacks, shoes and haircuts.

When and where did pickups happen?

The events ran on single days in July and August across Baton Rouge. Unstuck Ministries met July 30 from 9am to 4pm at 12015 Justice Ave. World Shakers met July 25 from 10AM to 2PM in Mid City Baton Rouge.

District 7 Pack the Sack met July 18 from 10am to 2pm at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 4000 Gus Young Ave., according to Louisiana First News back-to-school giveaway coverage.

I Need Thee Church at 6180 Winbourne Ave. held its Bash on Aug. 1 at 11am.

EBR Schools held its drive-thru Aug. 8 from 10am to 12pm at Central Office, 1050 S. Foster Drive, and the constable event followed Aug.

2 at 2pm at IBEW Local Union 995.

Who could participate?

Eligibility varied by host and required in-person attendance. EBR Schools served K-12 students. Unstuck Ministries served single moms with a child entering pre-K to 8th grade.

World Shakers listed students from pre-K through college. The constable giveaway required local children to be present in person. I Need Thee Church distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to prepare for 2027?

All 2026 events were while-supplies-last and tied to one date, time and address. October readers cannot claim them now. Sponsor pages are the place to check for new dates next summer.

Check the EBR Schools event page next summer before making supply purchases.

  • Note the host that fits your household, such as EBR Schools, a church, or a district event.
  • Check that host page in June and July for time, address, grades and residency rules.
  • Plan to arrive early with the student present when the host requires it.
