Two clearly dated Baltimore back-to-school giveaways remain ahead in 2026: UEmpower of MD on Aug. 20 and Boost Mobile on Aug. 29.
These are first-come, supply-limited distributions, not contests, so there are no local "winners" to select. Here, a back-to-school giveaway means an in-person event distributing free backpacks or school supplies. A third Baltimore event is listed for late August, but its published date is inconsistent.
Confirmed Baltimore giveaway dates and locations
UEmpower of MD will distribute free backpacks and supplies on Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event also includes food and services for families at The Food Project, 424 S. Pulaski St., Baltimore, MD 21223. The UEmpower of MD event page says supplies will be available while they last.
Boost Mobile's giveaway runs Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1815 Pennsylvania Ave., Baltimore, MD 21217.
The Boost Mobile event listing specifies one backpack per student, with a parent or legal guardian present. No purchase is necessary, and supplies are limited to that participating location while available.
Which event needs date confirmation?
Visit Baltimore lists a free backpack and school-supply cookout from the Hit Me With Music Foundation at 4025 Eastern Ave., Baltimore, MD 21224. However, the Visit Baltimore listing has an Aug. 23 heading and an Aug.
22 event description. Treat that event as pending confirmation rather than choosing one of the dates. Check for a corrected listing or confirm the date directly before traveling.
How families can prepare
Free distribution does not mean an item is reserved. Both confirmed events state that supplies are available only while they last, so arriving earlier may improve access without ensuring a backpack. Keep these event-specific rules in mind: Do not assume that Boost's guardian requirement or backpack limit applies to the other events.
