See Anchorage stores for pet rewards, birthday treats, shelter food help, and fee-free prize checks.
Anchorage pet owners can find legit pet-product giveaways at chain stores in town and through the city shelter's support program. These include loyalty birthday perks, in-store events and monthly offers, and food-bank supplies rather than sweepstakes jackpots. A loyalty perk is a free membership benefit you redeem, while a sweepstakes is a chance to win.
Account, location, and monthly limits apply, so check the sponsor's current terms before you go.

PetSmart store locator lists two Anchorage stores, North Anchorage at 1200 North Muldoon Road and South Anchorage at 601 E Dimond Blvd. That local footprint lets Anchorage members redeem national Treats Rewards benefits close to home. Petco Stores lists an Anchorage Mountain View store at 3090 Mountain View Dr., Anchorage, AK 99501.
Its store page points shoppers to free in-store pet-friendly events and monthly offers.
How do birthday and loyalty perks work?
Treats Rewards is a free loyalty program for PetSmart shoppers. According to the PetSmart Learning Center, members can receive 1,000 limited-time bonus points worth $2 plus a one-time 2x-points-on-treats perk during a pet's birthday or Gotcha Day month birthday and Gotcha Day gift terms. To use it, meet these account steps: According to Petco corporate, the free Petco Perks tier includes points on purchases, 3x points on Petco brands, personalized offers, and a birthday treat for the family pet Petco Perks details.
These are membership benefits, not chances to win.
- Add the pet's birthday or Gotcha Day to the account
- Opt in to Treats Rewards emails
- Use the points and treat offer that month, before they expire
Where does free food and supply help come from?
According to the Municipality of Anchorage Animal Care and Control, the shelter at 4711 Elmore Road is the Municipality's open-admission shelter serving Girdwood to Eklutna Animal Care and Control program page. Open admission means it accepts animals from its service area. The same source reports assisting about 423 households monthly through its Pet Food Bank.
Help includes food, litter, and supplies for local households.
How do you claim a prize without paying for it?
According to Federal Trade Commission Consumer Advice, legitimate sweepstakes and prizes are free FTC guidance on prizes. Anchorage shoppers should verify an offer on the sponsor's own page before they act. Watch for these payment traps: Never pay to claim a pet-product prize, and confirm terms on the sponsor page.
- Requests for taxes, fees, or shipping to release a prize
- Requests for gift-card numbers or wire payments
- Pressure to pay first and verify later
